The purpose of this post is to collect all the food history.

Roshogolla is kind of sweets that is very authentic to Bangladesh. It means Sphere of Sweetness (Rosho – Sweetness, derived from Rosh (Syrup) and Golla – Sphere or circle or drop). It is basically made from solid protein parts of the milk, shaped in spherical and dipped in sugary syrup.

  • Rosogolla of Pajia: Authentic Rosogolla invented in Pajia, Jessore district by Upen Chandra Dey (Also known by Tuney Moyra). The link here (in Bangla language) describes everything about this special sweets.
Jessore District: A hub of culture and history

Those who make the Sweets in Bangladesh are called Moyra. I still don’t know where the word comes from. But it only denotes to person who makes sweets and dessert. There are no school to train this kind of recipes, usually the knowledge passes from generation to generation in a family.
